Siefkas Craig, was born January 22, 1956, in Iowa Falls, Iowa, and passed from this life Saturday, August 5, 2017, at 61 years of age after a hard fought battle with cancer. Doug received his education in Aurora, IL graduating from West High School. He was united in marriage to Betty Ann Hamilton on September 1, 1979, at the Lacelle United Methodist Church in Lacelle, Iowa. This union was blessed with two children, Tobby and Wendy. Doug was a devoted farmer and tirelessly worked the land and raised his cattle with great pride. He also enjoyed helping his friends and neighbors when they needed a hand and was a member of the Clarke County Cattleman's Association. However, when he and Betty became grandparents, Doug found a new love and enjoyed every minute he could with his grandchildren.. Those relatives who preceded Doug in death were his parents; Herbert and Marcia Craig, father-in-law, T.J. Hamilton, sister-in-law Linda Fuller, sister-in-law, Sue Hamilton, brother-in-law, Tom Hamilton and a niece, Krista Hamilton. Doug leaves to cherish his memory; wife, Betty Craig of Osceola, IA, children, Tobby (Nicole Martz) Craig of Lamoni, IA; Wendy (Brian) Short of Osceola, IA, grandchildren, Lukas Short, Kaleb Short and Nolan Short; brothers, Jeff (Rene) Craig of Big Rock, IL and Greg (Karen) Craig of Sandwich, IL; mother-in-law, Marilyn Hamilton; sister-in-law, Vicky (Craig) Luce, brother-in-law, Doug (Karen) Hamilton, brother-in-law, Mike (Angel) Hamilton, brother-in-law Ed Hamilton, sister-in-law, Pam (Dave) Hewitt, brother-in-law, Larry (Rhonda) Hamilton, sister-in-law, Beth (Rick) Larrington, sister-in-law, Debbie (Joe) Hewitt, brother-in-law, Harold Fuller, sister-in-law, Jane Hamilton as well as many nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends. A visitation for Doug will be held Tuesday, August 8, 2017, with the family greeting friends from 5:00-7:00 P.M. A prayer service will begin at 7:00 P.M. Memorial contributions may be directed to Lacelle United Methodist Church.
