Douglas was born May 6, 1941 in Grand Forks, ND, the son of Clarence and Mildred (Swehla) Marsh. After his mother passed away, he was raised by his grandparents, Josie and Joseph Swehla. Douglas was born May 6, 1941 in Grand Forks, ND, the son of Clarence and Mildred (Swehla) Marsh. After his mother passed away, he was raised by his grandparents, Josie and Joseph Swehla. He attended school in Grand Forks, graduating from Central High School in 1959. He went on to attend the University of North Dakota and graduated with a degree in general business. Doug married Mary Kay Stoltman on July 19, 1965. They celebrated 50 years of marriage before her passing in 2015. She was the love of his life and he has missed her every day since her passing. Doug had a successful career as a salesman for Bristol Distributing and Westech selling electronics to stores around the state. He also owned Valley Trophies and Tshirts until 2003 when he retired. He enjoyed all things outdoors: hunting, fishing, gardening, and trapshooting. Doug loved to travel and took his family on a trip each year, making great memories together. He and Mary Kay traveled all over the world together as well. Doug never met a project he couldn’t complete and liked to keep busy in his retirement. He was a great friend, and leaves behind many, several who he has known since childhood. He had a great sense of humor to the very end and enjoyed playing jokes on his kids. He was very proud of his kids and grandkids. He was the leader of the family and will be dearly missed. Douglas is survived by his children, Troy (Jennifer) Marsh, Thompson, ND, Kristi (Tom) Grzadzielewski, and Jason Marsh, both of Grand Forks, ND; grandchildren, Jeremy and Nicolas Marsh, Amanda Marsh, and Grace and Brooke Grzadzielewski, and one great-granddaughter, Leilah Marsh. He is also survived by his brother, Darrell (Pat) Marsh, Eagle, ID, many nieces and nephews and countless friends. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Kay, his parents, and grandparents.
