Mr. Watters was born on November 28, 1924, in Ocheyden, Iowa, the son of Kenneth J. and Frieda Mae Zeug Watters. He married Charlotte G. Heslop on September 2, 1944, in Portland, Maine. He was a 1943 graduate from Muscatine High School. He was a World War II Veteran serving in the US Navy. He served on the Muscatine Fire Department from 1950-1957, leaving as Captain. He then worked at Bendix Aviation in Davenport for 24 years retiring in 1981. He was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church, Moose Lodge #388, and the American Legion. He was a life member of Elks Lodge #304. Survivors include his wife Charlotte Watters, of Muscatine; one son, Douglas N. Watters and his wife, Jane, of Fayetteville, North Carolina; one daughter, Linda Hildahl of Sioux City; seven grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; two sisters, Bonnie Nietzel and her husband, Ralph, of Muscatine, and Peggy Brower and her husband, George, of Muscatine. He was preceded in death by parents, his stepmother Edna, one daughter Toni, and one brother in infancy.
