Description	:	Douglas S. Allen, 66, of 396 Cartledge Creek Rd., Rockingham, died early today, April 19, 1995 at his home. He was born Oct. 6, 1928 in Richmond County, a son of D. L., Sr. and Ruth Sinclair Allen. He was a lumberman with D. L. Allen and Sons and served in The U.S. Army during the Korean War. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Crestview Baptist Church, where he was a Charter Member, had served as Superintendent of Sunday School, a Deacon and was a choir member. The Rev. He was born Oct. 6, 1928 in Richmond County, a son of D. L., Sr. and Ruth Sinclair Allen. He was a lumberman with D. L. Allen and Sons and served in The U.S. Army during the Korean War. William S. Kearse will officiate with burial following in Richmond County Memorial Park. (He was moved from Richmond County Memorial Park Cemetery to Crestview Baptist Church Cemetery.) Surviving are his wife, the former Ethel Poole; one son, Mark Douglas Allen of Rockingham; two daughters, Mrs. Jeff (Jill) Vuncannon of Ellerbe and Mrs. Bill (Jody) Honneycutt of Rockngham; four grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Walter T. (Doris) Frye of Stoneville and Mrs. Lawrence (Irma) Crouch of Rockingham. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 7 until 9 p.m. at the home on Cartledge Creek Rd. Deacons of Crestview Baptist Church are asked to serve as honorary pallbearers. Watson-King Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
