He was born Dec. 18, 1915, in Udell to Jesse Raymond and Anna Mincks King. He married Maxine Lewis in 1942, in Lancaster, Mo. He was employed at John Morrell & Co., retiring in 1972 as supervisor of canning. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of First Christian Church. He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Linda Collett of Packwood; a grandchild; and a sister. Anna Belle Mooney of Ottumwa. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jesse Ray King. The service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Shrine of Memories Funeral Home in Ottumwa, the Rev. Jack Jackson of Peoples Church in Batavia officiating. Entombment will be in Shrine of Memories Mausoleum with military services by Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion. Honorary pallbearers will be Don Hoffman, Ivan Meeker, Del Trowbridge, Carl Amelang and Paul Spencer. Visitation will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. today and from 1 p.m. until time of service Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Pekin School Scholarship Fund.
