Read More	Doyle Wayne Souer, 72, of What Cheer died Sept. 1, 1996, at the Keokuk County Hospital in Sigourney. He was born Dec. 22, 1923, near Hayesville to Charles and Minnie Ritter Souer. He married Gladys Ross on Nov. 14, 1942, in Lancaster, Mo. He attended rural schools. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps in Newfoundland during World War ll. He was a farmer and worked at Manatt's Road Construction for many years. He was a member of James E. Murphy Post No. 319 of the American Legion in Keswick. He is survived by his wife; four sons, Wayne of Wapello, Bob and Kenneth of Delta and Keith of Deep River; 10 grandchildren; and two brothers, Dave Sauer of Delta and Ned Murray of Dillion, Mont. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter, Ethel Mae Souer; a brother, Andrew Souer; and four sisters, Lucille Harkins, Ruth Snakenberg, Lena Bitner and Peggy Darnell. The service will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Harden Funeral Chapel in What cheer, the Rev. Vince Homan officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery near Delta with military honors by James Murphy Post No. 319. Visitation will be from 2 to 8:30 p.m. today and Tuesday at the funeral chapel, with the family present from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday. Memorials may be made to the What Cheer Rescue Unit.
