Description	:	Callis Jensen Anderson, Sr., M.D., 80, of Spartanburg, SC, died Sunday, June 5, 2005, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center after an extended illness. Born February 20, 1925, in Timmonsville, SC, he was the son of the late Evander McKiver Anderson and Katie Laura (Weatherford) Anderson. Dr. Anderson was a retired ophthalmologist and a graduate of the University of South Carolina and Duke University Medical School. Read More	Callis Jensen Anderson, Sr., M.D., 80, of Spartanburg, SC, died Sunday, June 5, 2005, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center after an extended illness. Born February 20, 1925, in Timmonsville, SC, he was the son of the late Evander McKiver Anderson and Katie Laura (Weatherford) Anderson. Dr. Anderson was a retired ophthalmologist and a graduate of the University of South Carolina and Duke University Medical School. He completed his residency in ophthalmology at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Spartanburg, a former member of the Spartanburg Lion's Club, and a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife Maryllyn (Duke) Anderson; two sons, Callis J. Anderson, Jr. and his wife Pamela of Spartanburg, and Duke L. Anderson and his wife Mona of Elgin, SC; a brother, Lenough Anderson of Myrtle Beach; two grandsons, Ross and Jack Anderson of Spartanburg; and two granddaughters, Anna Kate Anderson of Spartanburg, and Elizabeth Cantrell. He was predeceased by a daughter, Maryllyn K. Cantrell. Graveside services were held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 8, 2005, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, conducted by the Rev. Sal Barone. The family received friends following the service at the graveside. In lieu of flowers, memorials could be made to the Spartanburg Children Shelter, P.O. Box 2663, Spartanburg, SC 29304.
