On May 2, 1922, he married Dora Langenfeld the daughter of Nicholas and Katherine (Krupp) Langenfeld. They had five children: Joseph, Deloah, Alma, Eline and Max. After the death of their husband and father on July 5, 1945, the family gradually moved to Oregon. They are all married and living out West. Dora, at age 88, still manages to care for her home and her garden.
