Dr. Gary Wayne Husa, PhD was born in McCook, NE on Sept. 13, 1941 a year to the day after his older brother Don, to his parents Melvin Carl and Olga (Klima) Husa. He went to be with the Lord on Resurrection Sunday, Oct. 10, 2010 in Dallas, TX at age 69. Gary resided in Nebraska until age 8 when his family moved to Ft. Worth, TX. There the family was joined with younger brother Kendall Gene Husa. Between his sophomore and junior years of high school, the family moved to Spartanburg,SC so he shared with two high school classes, Paschal High School and Spartanburg High School. Each class considered him one of theirs and had such fun at multiple reunions. Gary took many pictures at the reunions and shared them with everyone, labeling each one precisely as was his usual practice. His undergraduate college years were at Duke University and his graduate years began at the University of Florida and continued at Southern Methodist University. He met his beloved wife Mary in a life saving swimming class at the University of Florida and they "saved" each others lives from then on. They were married on Aug. 19, 1967 in Gainsville, FL. His engineering career took them to job opportunities in TX, CA, CO and back to TX. Gary is survived by his wife of 43 years, Mary Esther Cake Husa, children Barbara Esther and husband Mikael Lindstrom; son Benjamin Carl and wife Kimberly Husa. Brother Donald L. and his wife Rose Marie Husa; nephews Donald V. Husa and Kendall Gene and wife Julie Husa, and niece Morgan Taylor Husa.
