A most attractive wedding occurred at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Knox June 28th, being the marriage of their daughter, Anna Marie, to Dr. H. A. Harding, of Kilgore. Only the immediate families and a few of the contracting parties most intimate friends witnessed the ceremony, Mrs. J. W. Gillespie, of Washington, D.C., being among the number from abroad. The prevailing colors of the floral decorations were ferns and white blossoms exclusively. Promptly at eight o'clock p.m., Misses Estella Maude and Zulu Elouse, sisters of the bride, entered the north parlor, Zulu beautifully rendering the wedding march to which the bridal party entered. The bride was gowned in organ des wan of a rich cream tint, wore a bridal veil and carried maiden fern and yucca. The maid of honor, who was Miss Hollie Knox, sister of the bride, was gowned in similar apparel. The groom and Dr. Z. F. Atwell, of Cleveland Medical College, were attired in full dress suits. The ceremony was impressively performed by Rev. A. McLane, of Harlem Springs, the ring ceremony being used. Immediately after the ceremony, a reception was given to Dr. and Mrs. Harding after which the bridal party and friends were ushered through the fall to the dining parlor where a sumptuous wedding collation was served. On the following evening a reception was tendered by the groom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Willaim Harding, of Kilgore. This was a charming affair, about thirty guests being received and a bountiful supper being served Mr. and Mrs. Harding. The parlors and tables were beautifully and tastefully decorated by floral designs and a pleasant evening was heartily enjoyed by all. Many costly, beautiful and useful presents of gold, silver and china, linens and furniture were received on both evenings by bride and groom, all of which were most highly and kindly appreciated. In the 1900 census Harvey was living in Loudon Township, Carroll County, Ohio. He was listed as age 32 born August 1867 in Ohio, his wife Anna M. age 27 born January 1873 in Ohio. Harvey's obituary in the Carroll Journal, Carrollton, Ohio, Thurs., February. 9, 1939. Dr. Harvey A. Harding, 72, for many years a practicing physician at Kilgore and Amsterdam, died Tuesday evening, February 7, at the home of his daughter, Marguerite Harding of Cadiz. Dr. Harding was a graduate of Harlem Springs college, Scio college, Ohio Northern University and the Starling Medical School, now a part of Ohio State university. Before taking up his medical studies he taught school in Loudon and Lee Township. Upon his graduation from medical school, in 1899, he returned to Kilgore and became associated in practice with Dr. Albaugh. He remained at Kilgore until 1913, when he removed to Canton for one year, then took up practice at Amsterdam, where he continued until his retirement in 1934 because of failing health. He was born at Kilgore August 29, 1867, the son of the late William and Samantha (Burrier) Harding. In1899 he was married to Anna M. Knox of Amsterdam, who preceded him in death. Three children were born to them, William of New Philadelphia, Joseph of Columbiana and Marguerite Harding of Cadiz, all of whom survive. Surviving also is a sister, Mrs Nellie Amos, wife of Hugh Amos, of Carrollton. His father was a veteran of the Civil war, member of Co. D, 80th O.V.I. Dr. Harding was recognized as one of the best diagnosticians in the district, and was called in consultation on many cases. He was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Amsterdam Methodist Episcopal church, with Rev. W. C. Patterson of Cadiz officiating, assisted by Rev. G. H. Birney of Amsterdam. Mrs. Laura Lodge of Cadiz will sing at the services. Interment will be made in Kilgore cemetery with Sweeny and Son in charge.
