Schafer, a Soap Lake chiropractor who grew up in the Ritzville area, were held Wednesday at the Menno Mennonite church. Schrag, 67, died Sunday at Hillcrest Manor rest home, where he had been living since the home opened last year. The Rev. Lester Janzen and Henry Hoffman officiated at the services. Interment was at the Mennonite cemetery. Pallbearers were Arnold Schragg, Howard Link, Philip Schrag, Vernon Aeschliman, Walter Heimbigner and Victor Schrag. Schrag, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Schrag, was born in Eugene, Ore., on June 2, 1894. He grew up on his parents' farm 18 miles west of Ritzville. He married Ella Henry. The couple moved to Soap Lake in the early 1930s where they lived until eight years ago. Schrag then lived in Ritzville for five years before going to a rest home in Spokane. He moved from Spokane when Hillcrest Manor opened. He was a member of the Ephrata Church of the Nazarene. Surviving are his wife at Soap Lake; a son, Harlan, at Soap Lake; a daughter, Mrs. Roberta Moffitt of Vandenburg air force base, Calif.; and a brother, Ewalt, of Monroe.
