Description	:	Dr. J. M. Scott, a practicing physician many years at Aurora and other places in Arkansas, died Thursday night at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Jim Dennis, of near Hartwell. His remains were interred Friday afternoon in the Aurora cemetery, Elder D. N. Dudgeon and Charles L. McElhaney conducting the funeral service. Dr. Scott was a native of Madison county, Arkansas and was born Jan. 20, 1850; he was married in 1866 to Miss Nancy Bell who died about 21 years ago. Besides his daughter, Mrs. Dennis, he is also survived by two sons, Dr. Alton Scott of Pettigrew and Clay Scott of Phoenix, Ariz., and two brothers, Chas. Scott of Rogers, Ark., and Titus Scott of Tahlequah, Okla. Dr. Scott was a faithful member of the Church of Christ 60 years. In his work as a physician he came in contact with many people and was highly esteemed by everyone who knew him. He will be greatly missed in his profession and by people generally among whom he worked so long. How sad and lonely are the days Since father went away. But trusting in our Savior's love We'll meet again some day. 'Twill be a joyous, happy time Upon the golden shore When we clasp fathers's hand And hear his voice once more. We long to see his smiling face, Just as it used to be When he was here and life was sweet And we from care were free.
