Description	:	the daughter and youngest child of Rufus Aiken and Ida Hooker. Most likely named after her father's first wife, and dear friend of her mother, who had passed away from diptheria less than two months after their marriage. Birth date is recorded on the 1900 census, where she was listed alone with her parents, her siblings being considerably older. Julia lost her father when she was 14 (1907) and was therefore recorded on the 1910 census with her mother only (and her nephew Harold, 6 year old son of brother Merrill). With both brothers having business interests, and herself studying in the medical field, Julia sold the Marshfield, Vermont family farm in 1918. For a few years thereafter, she was resident of Montpelier, Vermont. In 1922, she was granted a chiropractic license. Starting in May of 1922, she established a chiropractic office in Waterbury, Vt. She had done her chiropractic studies in the Palmer College, of Davenport, Iowa. The Palmer method involves the top-most vertebrae of the spine, also known as the atlas, which is adjusted using digital x-ray imagery. She had never married nor had children. According to her New Hampshire death record, she was interred in Cabot, Vermont. She was survived by one of her older siblings (Verne).
