Description	:	Dr. Leo F. Gordon Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Dec. 30, at St. Peters Catholic Church, Clermont for former resident, Dr. Leo F. Gordon, with Rt. Rev. Msgr. Joseph E. Dunn, officiating. Burial was in St. Peters cemetery. Dr. Leo F. Gordon passed away Christmas Day at Methodist Hospital, Memphis, Tennessee after suffering a stroke a few days previous. Burial was in St. Peters cemetery. Dr. Leo F. Gordon passed away Christmas Day at Methodist Hospital, Memphis, Tennessee after suffering a stroke a few days previous. Leo Gordon, the oldest son of James and Susan McGreevey Gordon, was born near Postville, on April 28, 1890. He grew up and attended school in the Postville vicinity. He married Blanche Milar and to this union one son, James Francis, was born. James passed away in 1936 at the age of 16 years. Leo became a veterinarian and was in private practice in state of Iowa and Illinois, located at New Hampton, Iowa for many years. In 1947 he joined the U. S. Government service and was located at the Omaha Stock Yards. He was transferred from there in 1953 to take charge of the South Memphis Stock Yards, retiring from this position in 1960. Since that time Dr. Gordon had been associated with the Memphis Humane Shelter. He is survived by his wife Blanche; a niece, Mrs. Roy Mann of Kenosha, Wisc.; a nephew, Beryl Black of Des Moines; and cousins, Elizabeth Priest of Corwith, Iowa; Max Evans and Mrs. Geo. V. Larson of Clermont. Schutte Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Postville Herald newspaper clipping from Dorothy Schave's collection.
