Description	:	Dr. Marshall A. Brewer died Saturday, Dec. 9, 2000, at Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital in Ulysses. He and twin sister, Marjorie were born March 11, 1919, at Dodge City, the son of Tobe and Agnes (Hickok) Brewer. He graduated from Grant County High School in 1937, from Garden City Community College in 1939, and from Fort Hays State University in 1942 and graduated second in his class in 1946 from Kansas University School of Medicine. Brewer died Saturday, Dec. 9, 2000, at Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital in Ulysses. He and twin sister, Marjorie were born March 11, 1919, at Dodge City, the son of Tobe and Agnes (Hickok) Brewer. He graduated from Grant County High School in 1937, from Garden City Community College in 1939, and from Fort Hays State University in 1942 and graduated second in his class in 1946 from Kansas University School of Medicine. On June 22, 1945, he married Roberta H. Brown at Wamego. Union to which a daughter Marsha (Brewer) Reynolds was born. A lifetime resident of Ulysses, he had been a medical doctor there since 1947. In 1996, he sold his medical clinic to Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital before his retirement in 1997. Through the years, he had delivered more than 2,000 babies. The Emergency Out-Patient Department addition at the hospital was dedicated to him in 1991, and on March 22nd, 2000 he was honored with a life membership to the medical staff of the hospital for his years of association from the groundbreaking of the hospital to the present. Dr. Brewer was awarded Grant County Citizen of the Year in 1979 and Pioneer of the Year in 1998, was a member of the First United Methodist Church, belonged to the American Academy of General Practice since 1958 and the American Academy of Family Practice since 1972, and was a member of Alpha Omega Alpha scholastic fraternity in 1944. He also raised and raced thoroughbred horses, raised channel catfish and liked to garden.
