Memorial services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 8, 2017, at the Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown. She was born to Roy G. Goepfert and Valborg (Guryea) Goepfert. Her mother passed away in childbirth and Mary was raised by her aunt, Dr. Marbry Duryea, in Minneapolis, MN. Memorial services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 8, 2017, at the Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown. She was born to Roy G. Goepfert and Valborg (Guryea) Goepfert. Her mother passed away in childbirth and Mary was raised by her aunt, Dr. Marbry Duryea, in Minneapolis, MN. She graduated from the University of Minnesota at the age of 19 and from the University of Minnesota Medical School at the age of 23, receiving a doctorate degree in Internal Medicine. She furthered her degree, receiving a Doctorate of Psychiatry. She practiced medicine in Chicago, Washington D.C., Virginia, Minnesota and Arkansas before returning to Watertown in 1984 where she practiced Psychiatry in Wilmar, MN, until her retirement. Mary enjoyed meeting new people, was an avid reader and was constantly learning about medical research, politics and business adventures. She enjoyed traveling across the country by car, visiting all states except Hawaii, which required flying. Mary is survived by her nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her Aunt Marbry; and her three older sisters: Carolyn Louise Anfinson, Barbara Ann Orear and Katharine Fraseur Moore. - Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel
