Description	:	Private services are being held today at Des Moines for Dr. Milton A. BARR, 86, former Muscatine resident, whose death occurred Friday at the Warford Nursing Home, Des Moines. The body is to be cremated and ashes returned to Muscatine for interment Monday at Greenwood cemetery. The Geo. M. Wittich Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Dr. BARR was born May 30, 1868, at Craftbury, Vt., the son of Andrew and Mary OVERMAN-BARR. he came to Iowa in 1882. Dr. BARR was born May 30, 1868, at Craftbury, Vt., the son of Andrew and Mary OVERMAN-BARR. he came to Iowa in 1882. After attending Dexter Normal school, he taught a country school near Adel in Dallas county. Later he attended the American School of Osteopathy at Kirksville, Mo., graduating from the school early in 1901. Dr. BARR engaged in the practice of osteopathy in Muscatine for a number of years. His first marriage was to Laura WRIGHT and they were the parents of one son, Robert. Her death occurred in 1908. He was married to Miss Anna McDOUGALL in 1911 and she died May 25, 1941. Dr. BARR was a member of the First Presbyterian church. He had been affiliated with the Masonic lodge since 1892, and was past master of Iowa Lodge No. 2, A. F. and A. M. Survivors include the son, Robert, and two grandchildren, Robert N. BARR and Mrs. R. W. O‘BRIEN, all of Des Moines. Muscatine, Iowa (written in ink; 23 April 1955)
