Description	:	M. D. Baldridge, Jefferson county's oldest physician, died at his home in Batavia the 1st inst. He was the son of a physician, graduated from Cincinnati, O., Medical college in 1849, came to this county in 1857, and was in continuous practice until the time of his death. Dr. Baldridge was a native of Guernsey county, O., and was born July 11th, 1826. He was married in Ohio, in 1851, to Isabella A. Alexander, who died here in 1870. Baldridge, Jefferson county's oldest physician, died at his home in Batavia the 1st inst. He was the son of a physician, graduated from Cincinnati, O., Medical college in 1849, came to this county in 1857, and was in continuous practice until the time of his death. Dr. Baldridge was a native of Guernsey county, O., and was born July 11th, 1826. He was married in Ohio, in 1851, to Isabella A. Alexander, who died here in 1870. September 27th, 1877, he was united in marriage with Nancy J. Hite, who survives him. There were two children from this Union, John H. and Milton R., both of whom reside at Batavia. Dr. Baldridge was a member of Kilwinning lodge, A. F. and A. M., Batavia, of McCord chapter, R. A. M., of this city, of Malta commandery, K. T., Ottumwa, and a noble of the Mystic Shrine. He was a skillful physician and surgeon, a man whose honesty and integrity could not be questioned, and a useful citizen. Although he may have presented a rough exterior, there was a kindly, sympathetic heart beneath and it found expression in many ways. His death will be very generally mourned in the community where he had passed more than half a century of his life and in a county where he had a wide acquaintance.
