Description	:	Dr. Mercer Neale, Jr. M.D., 85 of Heathsville died November 18, 1997. He was born January 17, 1912 in Donora, Pennsylvania, son of the late Milton Mercer Neale and Alma Brent Neale. He was a graduate of VMI in 1932 and Medical College of Virginia in 1939. Dr. Neale began his practice in Heathsville in 1940 and practiced until October 1997. He was the first coroner of Northumberland County. Dr. Neale was a vestryman and senior warden of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, Heathsville for many years.
