Nestor, 727 Randolph Street, with offices in the Pioneer National bank building, in practice here for 25 years, died at 7:45 p.m. yesterday in a hospital at Battle Creek, Mich., according to news received by his cousin, Dr. A. J. Joynt, 116 Lafayette Street. He was 66 years old. Dr. Nestor gained a wide acquaintance thru the southwestern part of the county while located for 10 years in practice at Hudson. Mrs. Nestor was with her husband when he died. The telegram stated she expected to leave today with the body for Waterloo. One month ago Dr. Nestor, whose health had been failing somewhat and who felt the need of rest and recuperation, left with his wife for the south, intending ultimately to visit the Island of Cuba. While in New Orleans he became ill. Later he was able to return to Chicago. His illness persisting, Dr. Nestor decided to go to Battle Creek, where his condition became critical and relatives were summoned. Able Diagnostician. - Dr. Nestor was on able diagnostician. He possessed the kindliness of the old time physician when horses and buggies were the mediums of transportation's over muddy, unimproved roads. On being graduated from the medical department of Iowa State University in 1890, Dr. Nestor located at once in practice in Hudson. He married Miss Ida Brandhorst and they left for Europe, where the doctor spent nearly three years in postgraduate work in the University of Heidelberg and Vienna University. Returning about 1903, the doctor established an office in this city. He served several years as health officer. Dr. Nestor was born April 5, 1862, in Pittsburgh, Pa. At the age of 5 years he came with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Michael Nestor, to Dyersville. Later the father went to Palo Alto county to take up land and was drowned. The family moved to that county later. Dr. Nestor was educated In the Emmetsburg public school. After his graduation he became a school teacher. Relatives surviving, besides the widow, are a brother, Joseph, living in Oklahoma; two sisters, Mrs. Thomas Mulry, Chicago, and Mrs. Samuel Knoll, living in Minnesota; a half-brother, L. E. Murphy, and a half-sister, Mrs. James Donahue, Emmetsburg.
