Description	:	Roy, M.D., 89, passed away at the Richland Hospital. He was born the only son of Roy and Anna (Munson) Glise. He attended school in Decorah, IA graduating from Decorah High School in 1937. Roy spent the next few years working the family farm and attending Luther College in Decorah. After graduating from Luther College he attended the University of Iowa Medical School, graduating in 1949. He was a member of the Sigma Nu Medical Fraternity. Read More	Roy, M.D., 89, passed away at the Richland Hospital. He was born the only son of Roy and Anna (Munson) Glise. He attended school in Decorah, IA graduating from Decorah High School in 1937. Roy spent the next few years working the family farm and attending Luther College in Decorah. After graduating from Luther College he attended the University of Iowa Medical School, graduating in 1949. He was a member of the Sigma Nu Medical Fraternity. He completed his medical internship at Broadlawns County Hospital in Des Moines, IA. He was married on June 16, 1949, to the former Jean Daurer. From 1951-1953, Roy served as a captain in the United States Medical Corp in Korea. He was a member of the VFW. In 1953 Roy started his medical practice in Richland Center with Dr. W.C. Edwards at the Edwards Clinic. He and his partners joined the Richland Medical Center in 1967. He was an active member of the American Medical Association and the Wisconsin State Medical Society. Although he served as a general practitioner in the Richland Center area for 33 years, retiring in 1986, he had an interest in obstetrics and delivered hundreds of babies during his career. A quiet man with a life long love of horses, he raised and bred Registered Morgan Horses as his hobby. Roy was an active member of the American Morgan Horse Association and a principle member of the Wisconsin Morgan Horse Association. In 1991 he was awarded the AMHA Master's Certificate for his long-standing involvement with Morgan Horses. Roy is survived by his wife of 59 years, Jean (Daurer) Glise of Richland Center, WI; six children, Mary Ann Edwards of Waukesha, WI, John (Jean) of Silverthorne, CO, Nancy of Lone Rock, WI, Robert (Kathleen Gorman) of Onalaska, WI, David (Pam) of Fond du Lac, WI and William (Connie) of Sun Prairie, WI; eight grandchildren, Corinn (James) Pillsbury of Hartford, WI, Ryan (Rachael) Edwards of Waukesha, WI, Nathan Edwards of Fort Wayne, IN, Laura Glise of Silverthorne, CO, Zoë and Annie Glise of Onalaska, WI and Lexi and Megan Glise of Fond du Lac, WI; four great-grandchildren, Duncan and Rhiannon Pillsbury, Liam and Gwendolyn Edwards. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Chetwyn & Anna (Munson) Glise; and his father and mother-in-law, Louis & Hazel Daurer. A visitation was held at the Stafford Funeral Home, Richland Center. The burial took place with Military Honors held at the cemetery.
