Southworth Howland Samuel Ware & Bethia Avery Ware adopted Samuel Fisher who was born at their home on 30 June 1777 in Sunderland. He was the youngest son of Bethiah's widowed sister Katherine and Jonathan Fisher. Jonathan Fisher died just months before in the Rev. war on 10 March 1777. Samuel Fisher became the first pastor at the First Presbyterian Church at Patterson, N.J. in 1814 where he served for 20 years. He died 27 Dec 1856 and is buried in Patterson N.J. [New-York Observer, Volume 87; wikipedia.org] Dr Samuel Ware is recorded as a gentlemanly and tender physician, cheerful and ingenious in his profession, and his genial spirit gave him many friends. He and his wife moved from Sunderland to Conway about 1770. Dr Samuel Ware had resided in Conway nearly 60 years of which 50 of those he practiced his profession [death notice published Wednesday, December 30, 1829, Hampshire Gazette] Samuel's will is available on ancestry.com Franklin County Mass. Probate, documents dated Feb 1830, Case Number 5007 Probate Files, 4979-5014. He named his wife Bethiah Ware and his son-in-law Moses Miller as executors. There are many many documents in his file. He names his wife Bethiah, his daughter Bethiah Miller wife of Moses Miller, his daughter Sally wife of William Bonney, daughter Polly wife of Southward Howland, and his son William Ware. He leaves his son William a collection of books and real estate in the state of Ohio. The documents include several pages of detailed inventory of his estate.
