Steve grew up in Osceola and graduated from Clarke Community High School with the class of 1969. He went on to Iowa State University and graduated as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1976. Steve was united in marriage to Jean Marie Stephenson on May 27, 1973 in Osceola. Following graduation from Iowa State, Steve proudly served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Seattle, Washington. Jean and Steve enjoyed their time in Seattle and the beautiful area. Their union was blessed with three children. Steve returned to Osceola and began his practice in his father's veterinary clinic until 2000 when he began working with the USDA. Steve was a big sports fan and enjoyed watching football, baseball and following the Cyclones. He enjoyed fishing and traveling and loved having his family together. He was a kind and loving husband, father, grandfather and brother and will be greatly missed. Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Norma and George Lewis.
