Born Sept. 28, 1925, in Frederick, of Verlin Christian Krabill and Anna Louise (Arnold) Krabill, Vic was married to Anna Jean (Hinton) Krabill who died May 16, 1996. Vic was the grandson, of George Valentine Arnold and Emma Louise (Ausserman) Arnold and was predeceased by sister, Betty (Krabill) Weyn. He is survived by two sons, and a daughter, Robert Hinton Krabill of Santa Fe, N.M., and Richard William Krabill and Ann Vickrey Krabill of Richmond, Va.; two grandchildren, Andrew Hinton McFayden and Stefan Michael McFayden of Richmond, Va.; one sister, Emma Louise Krabill Thornton and husband, Bert of Burkittsville; one brother, William Benton Krabill and wife, Judy of Pocomoke City and a number of nieces and nephews. Over the years, he has been a member of many clubs and organizations including the Frederick Presbyterian Church, Burkittsville Ruritan Club, Middletown Lions Club, and Western Maryland Veterinary Association, and the Veterinary Association of Brazil. Vic was graduated from Pocomoke High School, attended Salisbury State Teachers College, earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Maryland's College of Agriculture and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Georgia. He pursued additional post graduate studies at the University of Delaware and the Ohio State University, later earning a Master of Science in Veterinary Medicine from Iowa State University. Responding to a call to the ministry in 1955, Vic attended Union Theological Seminary in Richmond, Va., for one year, before being commissioned by the Presbyterian Church, USA as a veterinary medical missionary in Brazil, South America, where he served for 25 years. He met his wife Jean, a Southern Baptist missionary educator, while attending language school in Brazil. During his missionary tenure, Vic served as the sole veterinarian over a several hundred mile radius for many years in the state of Minas Gerais, taught at various institutions of higher learning, and was a leader in church foundation and development, including the Guanhaes Presbyterian Church. Prior to retirement, he was the district veterinarian for the Georgia Poultry Laboratory in Dalton, Ga. He will be mostly remembered for his integrity and the many friendships he developed in the communities where he served. His honors include Eagle Scout, member of the Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity, Who's Who Among American Students and Honorary Citizen of Guanhaes, Brazil, where he lived for many years. While serving in Europe as a WWII veteran of the US Army (PFC), Vic was awarded the Combat Infantryman badge, Good Conduct Medal, American Theater Ribbon, European African Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon, and WWII Victory Ribbon. As a WWII veteran, Vic was interviewed as part of the National Veterans History Project (C. Burr Artz Central Library, Frederick, Md.)
