Description	:	Walter was born in Greenville County, South Carolina son of the late Walter A. and Eva Chandler and attended the public school system in Greenville County; was a graduate of Furman University, Medical College of the State of South Carolina at Charleston Class of 1941. He worked in Charity Hospital in New Orleans, Garfied Memorial Hospital in Washington, D.C. and Columbia Hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. During World War II he served in Africa, Sicily and Italy as a captain in the Army Air Corp. Following his duty overseas, he served as an aide to General Hap Arnold in the Pentagon.... For many years he practiced in family medicine and obstetrics in Greenville County and also worked full-time at the Veteran's Outpatient Clinic in Greenville. Among his survivors were his wife, Irene and five children, four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
