Born in Greenwood, October 21, 1937, he was a son of the late William Jordan Holloway and Caroline Peterson Holloway. He was a US Air Force Veteran and was a graduate of Clemson University and the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. He served his general surgery residency and Vascular Surgery Fellowship at Emory University in Atlanta. He served his general surgery residency and Vascular Surgery Fellowship at Emory University in Atlanta. In 1971 he began practice with Dr. Travis Stevenson as a general/peripheral vascular surgeon. In a short while he limited his practice exclusively to Vascular Surgery with the creation of Carolina Vascular. At that time he also spearheaded and developed the Carolina Vascular Institute at Self Regional Medical Center which was the first accredited Vascular Center in the state of South Carolina. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Greenwood. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, PO Box 426, Greenwood, SC 29648 or to Hospice Care of the Piedmont, 408 W. Alexander Avenue, Greenwood, SC 29646.
