W. Glenn Wilson Glenn arrived in Highland Co. from Virginia in the year 1830. He settled on a farm three miles east of Hillsboro, where he passed away in 1834. His son, Alexander Harvey Glenn, left the county to study and practice medicine in Cedron, Clinton Co., O. Dr. Alexander Glenn married Isabella VanDyke in 1852, and on Oct. 11, 1853, William Walter joined the family. When William W. was 15 years old, the family moved to Sardina, Brown Co., Ohio. Dr. Alexander Glenn practiced medicine and operated a drugstore in the town until his death in 1891. William W., an only son, received a good education in the Sardinia School and attended Normal School at Georgetown, O., in the same county. He graduated from Starling Medical College in Columbus, O., in 1879, and established an office in his hometown. In 1881, he moved his practice to Bloomingburg, Ohio, and remained there until 1886. He spent the winter of 1883-84 at the Polyclinic and Post-Graduate schools of New York. After spending a year in the south, he set up an office in Hillsboro, O., in January, 1888. He became a partner of Dr. Henry Mulleneaux Brown in August of the same year. Dr. W. W. Glenn married Sarah A. Marshall and they became the parents of three children: Bliss, born in 1883, Nina (Huggins), born in 1885, and Faith (Boyd), born in 1890. Dr. Glenn practiced in Hillsboro for over 35 years. When he died May 5, 1923, he left an accumulation of professional and personal friends seldom the privilege of one man to enjoy. His funeral oration was heard by a greater number of people than had ever attended a funeral in Hillsboro before that time.
