Dobbins 82, long a popular and respected resident of the Camp Creek community in upper Greenville County died late today after an illness of eight months. Mr. Dobbins had made his home in the Camp Creek section all of his life and had many friends to regret his passing. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Amelia Hooper Dobbins, two daughters, Mrs. J. Dobbins 82, long a popular and respected resident of the Camp Creek community in upper Greenville County died late today after an illness of eight months. Mr. Dobbins had made his home in the Camp Creek section all of his life and had many friends to regret his passing. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Amelia Hooper Dobbins, two daughters, Mrs. J. Henson of Greenville, and Mrs. M.B. Thompson of Taylors RFD No. 1, in whose home he died. 15 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Mr. Dobbins was a member of the Camp Creek Baptist church from which funeral services will be conducted Friday afternoon at 4 o'clock the Rev. James Bruce and the Rev. W.T. Wilson officiating. Interment will be in the churchyard. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers as follows: Ladson, Gerald, and Okief Thompson, Elihu Crane, S.A. and P.W. Henson. Composing the honorary escort will be T.I. Brown L.S. Fowler, A.M. Ballenger, Vernon Hightower, Walter Sladon, Harrison Sladon, Wallace Hempley, and Robert Revis. The body will remain at the home of Mrs. Thompson until the hour of funeral.
