Well Early Day Meadow Resident Passes in Western City after Brief Illness Friends Pay Last Tribute At Services Held From Presybterian Church: Friends of long standing gathered with relatives at Spencer Memorial Presbyterian church at 2pm Tuesday to pay their final tribute of respect to Mrs. Jane Well, pioneer resident of the Meadow and Lemmon communities. Mrs Well died at Renton, Wash, hospital Wednesday, Aug. 29. Mrs. Well had been in failing health for two months but had been in the hospital only three weeks beofre her death which followed surgery. Body Brought Here: Rites were held at the Walker-Haise Funeral chapel in Renton Friday at 1pm with Rev.Perry of South Seattle officiating. After the service the body was brought to Lemmon by her daughter, Mrs. W. R. Aanerud of Renton, arriving Saturday night. John and Henry Well of Elgin had also been at the bedside of their mother during her last illness. Paston Officiates: Rev. Chas P. Ford, pastor of the church officiated at the services here Tuesday. Two favorite hymns, "Nearer My God To Thee" and "In The Garden" were sung by Mrs. Clarence Braught and Mrs. William Bywater. Mrs George G. Papke was the accompanist. Pall Bearers Named: Pal Bearers, chosed form among close friends of the family were Otto Huwe, J.R. Schur, James Oleson, A.D. Smith, A.F. Schnell and L.B. Boorman. Burial was made in Lemmon cemetery by the grave of her husband. Born in Minnesota: Drusilla Jane Cunningham was born at Dassel, Minn., Sept 03 ,1869. Had she lived until Monday she would have celebrated her 82nd birthday. She was the seventh of twelve children born to Martha and Peter G. Cunningham. Came Here in 1910: She received her education and grew to young womanhood at Dassel where she met and was married to Charles Well, on Jan 5,1887. They established their home in the Minnesota village and resided there until 1897 when they moved to Andover, S.D. There they made their home until 1910 when they came to Perkins county to locate on a homestead north of Meadow. They lived in the south country until 1917 when they moved to Lemmon. Mr. Well died here in 1926 following a lingering illness. Lived Long In West: Since, Mrs. Well had divided her time between here and Seattle. In the latter city she made her home with a brother-in-law and sister, with frequent visits to her children. She was widely known throughout northern Perkins county for her kindly interest in and her helpfulness to neighbors and all others with whom she came in contact during her long and useful life. Her many good deeds won for her highest esteem. She was affiliated with the Presbyterian church. Surviving relatives include her sons, Henry P., and John B. Well of Elgin, N.D., and one daughter, Marjorie, now Mrs. Aanerud, eleven grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. (copy notated by her gdau Della June Aanerud)
