Duane Allen Dierks was born March 21, 1949, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Glenn and Geneva (Armstrong) Dierks. He married Janet Elaine Herring on February 17, 1973, at St. John’s United Church of Christ in Clarence. He was a lifelong Cedar County farmer. He collected antique tractors, cars and toys and could always make somebody smile. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and watching his grandsons race. He is survived by his wife, Janet; one son, Bradley (Trisha) of Clarence; two grandsons, Brady and Kyler Dierks; two sisters, Sandra (Royce) Lehrman of Mechanicsville and Suzanne (Larry Boothe) Hack of Indianola; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Sarah Dierks and one son, Scott Dierks. Chapman Funeral Homes
