Description	:	Duane A.Dotson 90,of Atalissa, passed away Thursday June 27, 2013 at Cedar Manor Nursing Home Tipton. Funeral service will be held at 10;30a.m on Monday July1,2013 at the Fry Funeral Home Tipton. Pastor Jonathan Smith officiating. Casket bearers will be his grandsons, Brade DeRiemacker Jeremy Dotson,Robert Dotson,and Eric Adams, and David Kirchner and Bill Kofron who are like sons to Duane and Maralee. Honorary casket bearers are Donald Owen,Jack Simon, Don Pelze, Lane Reid, and Bryan Regenitter. Duane was born on May 21, 1923 in Cedar County, the son of Shirrel and Ethel Crees Dotson.In 1924 he moved to the farm where he resided for the rest of his life. He was a graduate of Springdale High School. On November 13, 1954, Duane was united in marriage to Maralee Joyce Williams at the Little Brown Church in Nashua Iowa. Duane devoted his life to his family and farming. He was a member of the Tipton Bible Church, 50 year member Spotted Poland Assn. Cedar County Pork Producers, Iowa Bowling Assn, and was a Commmitteman for Cedar County ASCS. Duane is loved and survived by his wife, Maralee, of Atalissa, daughters, Becky Mills and husband David of West Liberty, Sandra Duncan and husband Dave of Austin Texas, Dana Pfister and husband Kevin of West Liberty, Krista DeRiemacker and husband Andy of Atalissa, and Ann Dotson and Darryll Alke of West Liberty, a son, Jim Dotson and wife Teri of Wilton, nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marilyn, a daughter, Diane, and brothers, Glenn and Carl.
