Description	:	CENTRAL CITY — Duane Bruce Henk, 84, of Central City, died at his home on Friday, June 5, 2015. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Central City Cemetery. Read More	CENTRAL CITY — Duane Bruce Henk, 84, of Central City, died at his home on Friday, June 5, 2015. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Central City Cemetery. Solt-Wagner Funeral Home at 1507 17th St. in Central City is in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Henk was born on April 6, 1931, to Fred William and Vera Edna (Wilson) Henk in Central City. Survivors of the immediate family include his two daughters, Jacy Henk and Allen Thompson of Aurora, Lisa Henk and Keith Morse of Kearney; two sisters, Norma and Bob Husmann of Chapman and Cheryl and Roger Spencer of Huber Heights, Ohio; a son-in-law, Rodney Graham; and a grandson, Joseph Graham of Hastings. Duane attended Central City schools, graduating in 1949. After high school he then joined the United States Army where he served our country from April 2, 1952, until April 1, 1954. Duane Bruce Henk and Janice Kathryn Hoffman were united in marriage in Aurora on June 15, 1958. Duane and Janice lived in Aurora for four years until moving to Central City. While living in Central City, Duane worked for Larsen’s Chevrolet for 11 years. He then became a mail carrier for the U.S. Post Office in Central City until his retirement in 1998. Duane was a member of the United Methodist Church in Central City, American Legion Post 6 and the Central City Sportsmans Club. He was a true outdoorsman; he enjoyed spending time at “the river” working on his deer stands, deer hunting, and just being in nature. He was also an avid gunsmith, working on wooden gun stocks, fixing axes, going to gun and quilt shows with Janice, and enjoyed all sports, especially baseball. Even with all of his interests, his greatest love and enjoyment came from spending time with his daughters and grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Vera Henk; his wife, Janice; his daughter, Gail Graham; a brother, Robert Henk; and a sister, Lois Carter.
