Description	:	Duane Illert was born to Carl E. and Dollie C. (Hart) Monteith on August 29, 1923. He lived with his family at Garden City, SD until moving to Henry SD when Duane was in the sixth grade. Duane graduated from Henry High School in 1942. On November 19, 1944, Duane married Carol Page at Watertown SD. The couple farmed in the Henry and Summit areas until 1956 when they moved to Brookings SD. He lived with his family at Garden City, SD until moving to Henry SD when Duane was in the sixth grade. Duane graduated from Henry High School in 1942. On November 19, 1944, Duane married Carol Page at Watertown SD. The couple farmed in the Henry and Summit areas until 1956 when they moved to Brookings SD. Duane worked for Tony Rust and Son Plumbing for 20 years and then started his own business, M & M Plumbing and Heating with Melvin Herold. Duane retired in 1988. Duane was a member of the First United Methodist Church and National Rifle Association and a past member of the Golden K Kiwanis. He enjoyed camping, gardening, hunting and fishing. Survivors include his wife, Carol and four children: Alan of Brookings, Steven (Gail) of Lake Norden SD, Rita (Richard) Trejo of Ventura, California, and Dean of Peacham, Vermont; nine grandchildren; two brothers: Carl Raymond (Gerry) of Webster SD, and Howard (Betty) of Great Falls, Montana. He is preceded in death by his parents. three brothers: Olin, Leo and his twin Dwight and a son-in-law, Jeff Johnson.
