Description	:	The Oakland Independent 11-6-1997 Duane Clough Memorial services for Duane J. Clough of Winslow were held Sat., Nov. 1, 1997 at the First Congregational Church of the U.C.C. in Uehling. He died October 28 at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha at the age of 64 years. The Rev. Wallace Barth officiiated at the service. Music was furnished by Leta Olson, organist and congregational singing. Honorary casket bearers were Bruce Brandenburg, Kenneth Sohl, Robert Vondrasek, Pat Mallette Sr., Roger Clough, Pat Mallette Jr. and Maisie Watkins. Burial of the ashes was in the Hooper Cemetery. Clough was born July 21, 1933 in rural Hooper to James A. and Gladys (Sohl) Clough. He graduated from Uehling High School in 1950 and attended Midland Lutheran College in Fremont, Kansas State University in Manhattan, KS and Colorado State University in. Fort Collins, CO. He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Hooper, a past member of the First Congregational Church in Fremont, a lifetime member of VFW Post #854 in Fremont, a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aeire #200 of Fremont, a lifetime member of the Military Order of the Cootie and a lifetime member of the Winslow Fire Department. He had lived in Hooper, Winslow, Uehling and Fremont most of his life. He served in the US Army from 1953 to 1956 and was stationed in Germany as a nurse. He owned Clough Construction Company in Hooper for many years. Survivors include his mother, Gladys Clough of Uehling; three sons, Douglas and wife Lori Omaha, Patrick and wife Kae of Hooper, James J. and wife Tania of Anselmo; daughter Rochelle and husband Tim Meyer of Fremont; one sister, Juanita Wilson of Omaha; seven granddchildren; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, James Clough.
