Celebration of life services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 8, 2017 at Powers Funeral Home 612 N. Dodge in Afton. Pastor Dwayne Henrichs will officiate. At Bud’s request, memorials can be given to the Creston Animal Rescue Effort. Duane Leslie O’Neall, son of Herman Leslie O’Neall and Louise Evelyn (Draper) O’Neall, was born on September 26, 1931 in Murray, Ia. He graduated from Murray High School. Bud served his county as a soldier with the United States Army, enlisting in 1951. He was stationed in Japan during the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1953. Bud was united in marriage on October 1954, in Creston, to Dorthea Joyce Boham. They first lived in Indianola where he worked as a truck driver and in 1959 returned to Creston. Bud and Joyce later divorced. Bud owned and operated Creston Beverage Company as a beer distributor of Hamm’s and Coors until around 2004 when he sold the business to the Sharp family. Bud was a member of the Creston VFW, Eagles Lodge and the American Legion. Bud was survived by three daughters, Treasa (Ronnie), Linda (Jon) and Janice (Randy); son, Randy (Debbie); eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dolores and Kaye; his friend, Cheryl; and his dog, Ozzie. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers-in-law, Gary Wilson and Jim Lescher; two great-grandsons, Selton Stephens and Samuel Dunkerson; two nieces, Pam Conley and Vicki Mason; and a nephew, Steven Moran.
