Interment at Oakland Cemetery, in Beaman, Iowa. Duncan was born on July 28, 1923, in Beaman, the son of Arch J. and Leta (Clarey) McMartin. He married Dorothy Talbott on November 3, 1948, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Duncan served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He lived his entire life in Grundy county, farming in Melrose Township. He was a member of the Alice Church of God, the Weathermen-Walter American Legion Post of Beaman, the Masonic Roman Lodge #564, A.F. & A.M, where he was past master. Duncan also served on the Grundy County R.E.C. board. He is survived by a daughter, Dixie Phillips of Grundy Center, Iowa; a son, DeeGene (Linda) McMartin of Grundy Center; daughter-in-law Kathy McMartin of Grundy Center; eight grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren.
