Visitation was held Friday, Nov. 13, 2015, at Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill with a prayer service. Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 14, 2015, at the United Methodist Church in O’Neill. Rev. Pallbearers were Jacob Green, Rudy Smith, Justin Plugge, Matt Elsbury, Mike Bittner, Curt Bittner, Paul Glup, Shawn Bittner, Tony Briggs, Troy Plugge, Dan Coffey, Scott DeBerg and Jason DeGroff. Honorary pallbearers were Brady Dierks, Chris Dierks, Nathan Dierks, Alex Dierks, Ed Hoffman, Alex Hoffman, Jerome Thunker, Larry Shavlik, Craig Sallach, Charlie Molvig, Jed Connealy, Riley Renner, Curtis Carr, John Olson, Tanner Olson, Mike Peter and Cap Dierks. Burial was in the Chambers Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family for future designation. Dwaine was born Aug. 18, 1953, in O’Neill to Marjorie and Donald “Bud” (Harvey) Green. He attended grade school in rural Chambers and District 21 in Wheeler County. He graduated from Wheeler Central High School in 1971 and attended and graduated from college at UNSTA in Curtis in 1973. On Sept. 25, 1976, he married his high school sweetheart, Carol Jareske, at St. John’s Catholic Church in rural Clearwater. To this union, two daughters were born, Megan Marie and Melissa Ann. In his younger years, Dwaine enjoyed rodeoing, which included steer wrestling and team roping. After starting a family, he gave up rodeoing. He team penned for a few years and then picked up team roping again in later years. He was a true rancher at heart. He liked caring for his cattle, riding and trading horses. The greatest joy came from his family. His grandchildren were his pride and joy. They loved to go with Papa in the tractor and check cows. In the last few years, Dwaine and Carol enjoyed traveling to Arizona where he enjoyed roping with friends. He was a member of the Chambers United Methodist Church and Sons of the American Legion. He was also a member of Midstates Rodeo Association, Sandhills Cattlemen Association, AQHA and R-Calf. He also was the Midstates Rodeo Association Steer Wrestling Champion in 1975. Dwayne is survived by his wife of 39 years, Carol; two daughters, Megan (Scott) Jacob of Neligh and Melissa (Drew) Kasselder of rural Ewing; his mother, Marjorie Green of Chambers; his mother-in-law, Mary Jareske of Fullerton; six grandchildren, Addyson, Walker, Cooper and Zandra Jacob and Corbin and Easton Kasselder; two sisters, Connie (Jesse) Plugge of Bartlett and Lu (Roy) Plugge of Bartlett; one brother, Les (Cindy) Green of Ewing; and many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald "Bud" Green; one brother, Douglas; his grandparents; and father-in-law, Leo Jareske.
