Family will greet friends from 4:00-6:00 pm Monday, May 27, at Trinity Lutheran Church, East Wall Lake, rural Hartford, SD. A memorial service will begin at 2:00 pm Tuesday May 28, at the church. With some of the family unable to attend the first service, a second service will be 3:00 pm Monday July 1, at the church with burial in the churchyard cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church Dwayne Cecil Anderson, son of Milton and Ellen (Harvey) Anderson, was born September 6, 1933 in Sioux Falls, SD. He lived in Valley Springs before the family moved to Watertown, SD, where he attended elementary school. The family then returned to Sioux Falls where he attended Whittier Middle school and later Washington High, before moving to Valley Springs. As a young man he began working as a carpenter. He married Lila Mae Geide on October 18, 1954 in Trosky, MN. The couple made their home in Sioux Falls where Dwayne worked at Williams Piano Company and O’Connor Commercial Printing while Lila Mae stayed home with their children. Some of the family entertainment included Dwayne buying a fishing boat and the family would enjoy fishing together. In 1962 the family moved to Hartford, SD, where they farmed and resided for several years. Dwayne started his Square Dance career in 1965 as a Square Dance Caller and teaching square dance lessons in several states. He enjoyed this past time and continued to do this on a weekly basis for over 50 years. Dwayne quit farming in 1989 and moved back to Sioux falls where he began working for Sioux Steel. On September 17, 1993 he married Mary Zitterich in Sioux Falls. The couple continued living in Sioux Falls until his death. Dwayne was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Shirts & Skirts, Spares & Pairs Dance Clubs, Acitve Generations, where he enjoyed playing cards, Bingo and having coffee with friends. Dwayne will be remembered for his calling square dances from 1965 until 2015. Dwayne and Mary also enjoyed taking their camper to Texas every winter, for ten years in a row. Grateful for having shared his life are his wife Mary, Sioux Falls; his children, Michael Anderson, Hartford, SD, Mark (Kris) Anderson, Colton, SD, Marcia (Michael) Jensen, Peoria, AZ, Marlo Anderson and his friend Karen, Hartford, SD, Melanee (Jerry) Cleveland, Bismarck, ND; his step-children, Gary (Julie) Zitterich, Robert and Dorene Zitterich, all of Sioux Falls; daughter in law, Sonja Zitterich, Sioux Falls; 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 8 step-grandchildren, 9 step-great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Gale (Avis) Anderson, Pierre, SD, and William (Janice) Wilson, Renner, SD, sister in law, Patty Wilson, Sioux Falls, and his sisters Raelene Wilson, Des Moines, IA,Juanita Rhodd, Hill City, SD; and a host of other relatives and friends. His parents, first wife Lila Mae, brother Donald Wilson and sister Jackie Wilson, and a step-son, Chuck Zitterich, preceded him in death. - Miller Funeral Home
