Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 23 at 11 a.m. Heritage Funeral Home, Sioux Falls, with interment at Elkton Cemetery, Elkton, S.D. Dwayne Wallace Kautz was born Oct. 3, 1926 in Ward, S.D., to Emma Louisa (nee Timm) and Jacob Kautz. He was baptized on Oct. 31, 1926 by Pastor William Lindloff. Dwayne Wallace Kautz was born Oct. 3, 1926 in Ward, S.D., to Emma Louisa (nee Timm) and Jacob Kautz. He was baptized on Oct. 31, 1926 by Pastor William Lindloff. He was confirmed on June 9, 1940 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Pipestone by Pastor J.G. Steinmeyer. He attended elementary school in Ward, S.D. and entered Pipestone elementary in fifth grade. He graduated from Pipestone High School in 1945. He was inducted into the U.S. Army on March 10, 1945 and was honorably discharged on Nov. 14, 1946. He re-entered the military on Jan. 15, 1951 and was released from active duty on Oct. 17, 1952. He served for 22 years in the National Guard, retiring on Oct. 3, 1986. He married Delphine Louise Beadell on Feb. 1, 1953 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Pipestone by Pastor J.G. Steinmeyer. He owned and operated the King's Kourt Motel with his wife, Del, for 30 years until his retirement. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Pipestone; was active in Kiwanis and the Pipestone Chamber of Commerce. Dwayne was an active pilot and was named "Mr. Aviation" of 1966 in Minnesota for his promotion of aviation. He was also a member of the American Legion. In January 1990 Dwayne and Del moved to Brandon, S.D. While he lived in Brandon he was a volunteer for "Mended Hearts," an organization which helped patients recover from heart surgery. He was a member of Blessed Redeemer Lutheran Church, Brandon. Dwayne and Del moved to Primerose Apts. In Sioux Falls in August 2006. Dwayne entered Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Sioux Falls in March 2007. He is survived by his wife, Delphine, Sioux Falls; a son, Rick (Geraldine) Kautz, Sioux Falls; two grandchildren; four brothers-in-law, Alton (Gladys) Beadell, Vesta; Kenneth (Von) Beadell, Chualar, Calif.; Ron (Kathy) Beadell, Loveland, Colo. and Donald (Joyce) Beadell, Delhi and six sisters-in-law, Virginia (Dean) Faltison, Tracy; Evelyn (Larry) Bleninger, Faribault; Dorothy Beadell, Faribault; Annette (Lowell) Anderson, Springfield; Glorraine (Glen) Erickson, Danvers; Shirley (Loren) Zimmer, Holiday Island, Ark.
