Description	:	Dwight Allen Lehman was born September 15, 1928, to Warner and Gladys Lehman. He was raised on a farm near Dana with his sister, Lorraine. Dwight graduated from Paton High School in 1946 where he played sports and acted in school plays. Dwight married Beverly Condit on May 23, 1948, and they raised five children (Allen, David, Daniel, Cynthia and Richard). He was raised on a farm near Dana with his sister, Lorraine. Dwight graduated from Paton High School in 1946 where he played sports and acted in school plays. Dwight married Beverly Condit on May 23, 1948, and they raised five children (Allen, David, Daniel, Cynthia and Richard). They farmed for many years near Burnside, Paton and Jefferson before moving to Jefferson in 1965. Dwight then worked for Eldon Juhl, Inc., Jefferson Cooperative and Finch Chevrolet. He also provided alcoholism counseling in Jefferson and Fort Dodge. Following retirement, Dwight and Bev enjoyed traveling, with highlights being trips to Europe and Alaska, along with regular trips to visit their children and families in Houston, Chicago, Buffalo, and Lake Panorama. Dwight was an avid sports fan, especially Iowa State Cyclones and Chicago Cubs. He and Bev were season ticket holders for ISU men's and women's basketball, thinking nothing of making the 40-mile drive to Ames on a cold, snowy night to watch the Cyclones. He also enjoyed watching sports on TV and playing bridge and pitch. Dwight passed away at Long Term Care at Greene County Medical Center. He was well liked by the staff where he affectionately greeted caregivers with "Hi, Sis." While there, Dwight was cared for by Hospice of the Midwest. Dwight and his family are grateful for his caregivers. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Lorraine Bradley; brother Carroll in infancy; wife Beverly; sons Daniel and Allen; and grandson Andy. Dwight is survived by his children: David (Coreen Arnold) Lehman of Chicago, IL, Cynthia (Glenn) Summers of Blasdell, NY, Richard (Nancy) Lehman of Houston, TX; daughters-in-law, Muriel Lehman of Jefferson, IA and Susie Lehman of Houston, TX; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends. A private gravesite service will be Saturday, November 13, 2021 at Paton Township Cemetery with his three children offering stories in tribute to their father.
