Bravener, son of William and Jane Thompson Bravener, was born near West Union April 23, 1865. His early life was spent in Fayette County and except for a year in Colorado, his entire life was lived in communities near his last home. Bravener, son of William and Jane Thompson Bravener, was born near West Union April 23, 1865. His early life was spent in Fayette County and except for a year in Colorado, his entire life was lived in communities near his last home. On February 20, 1889, he was married to Kittie Broadbent of Alpha, Iowa, and to this union four sons and two daughters were born, Nellie Eastland of McIntire, Iowa, Emory, Reno, Sturgis and Niel of Fredericksburg and Bernice Hall of Waterloo. There are eight grandchildren and five stepchildren. Except for the death of an infant brother, his death is the first break in the circle of three brothers and two sisters, these are R. T. Bravener of Denver, Colorado, Mrs. Charles Hurr, Onieda, Illinois, Mrs. R. E. Finch, Alpha, Iowa, and A. W. Bravener, near Waterloo. His wife's death occured on March 8, 1910 and in 1920, he married Mrs. Nellie Cosby of Fredericksburg. Mr. Bravener was a man whose main interest in life, besides the welfare of his family, was to carry on his share of an allotted task with pride in the results of his labor. The words "friend" and "neighbor" meant a great deal to him, and always in a time of need he was ready with helping hand. His life has been filled with little kindly deeds and the type of riches that such acts engendered is a source of comfort to the loved ones left. The funeral will be held at the home at 1:30, at the Methodist church at 2 o'clock, on Friday, November 8th. Services will be conducted by Rev. Roy Stern assisted by Rev. D. H. Artman.
