Born Jan. 19, 1955, in Oakland, he was a son of the late Harry Ward Hinebaugh Jr. and Helen Lucille (Railey) Hinebaugh. He was also preceded in death by a treasured niece, Gwendolyn Helen "Dubie" Johnson. Born Jan. 19, 1955, in Oakland, he was a son of the late Harry Ward Hinebaugh Jr. and Helen Lucille (Railey) Hinebaugh. He was also preceded in death by a treasured niece, Gwendolyn Helen "Dubie" Johnson. He was a graduate of Southern Garrett County Jr./Sr. High School with the class of 1973, excelling on the golf team. He also attended Garrett Community College. David's chosen career was in electrical engineering, and he obtained a bachelor of science degree in electronics engineering technology from Capital Institute of Technology, Laurel, in 1983. He pursued additional studies at Hawaii Pacific University and Johns Hopkins University. He was employed by E-Systems/Raytheon Corporation for 20 years, retiring and returning to Oakland because of ill health in 2003. During his career, among other projects, he worked in the U-2 program, strengthening our nation's defenses, safeguarding our freedom, and extending protection to our allies. Highly intelligent, resourceful, and independent, David led a full and rewarding life. He had many interests and pursuits. He delighted in cooking and preparing delectable meals, many of which were ethnic cuisine. He enjoyed traveling, playing golf, motorcycling, jet skiing, playing cards, and driving his Corvette. He had many projects going on at all times – remodeling his home, beautifying his property, and raising chickens. His love of growing flowers, shrubs, trees, and vegetables had no limit. He attended St. Matthew's Episcopal Church in his youth, attending Sunday school classes and serving as an acolyte. He was a good friend and family member, had an unequaled sense of humor, and will be greatly missed. He is survived by one sister, Fannie H. Johnson and husband Von "Buzz," Oakland; one brother, Dr. Harry W. "Buddy" Hinebaugh III and wife Deborah, West Chester, Pa., and Oakland; and one niece, Anne Elise (Hinebaugh) Eunson, husband Dan, and their daughter Grace, Thornton, Pa.
