Dwight "Gus" Louis Lenz, the son of Louis and Mary Jane Shill Lenz, was born on June 19, 1938, in Marshalltown, Iowa. He was a 1957 graduate of Kellogg High School. On November 12, 1960, Dwight married Sue Hagen in Kellogg, Iowa, at the United Methodist Church. They were the parents of Todd and Teri. Dwight was a farmer. He attended the Cornerstone Bible Fellowship. Dwight was a member of the Jasper County Farm Bureau, served on the Board of Directors for the Jasper Mutual Insurance Company (now Hawkeye Mutual Insurance Association), and on the Board of Directors for the Farmer's Co-Op (now the Heartland Cooperative). Dwight sang in the southern gospel style group Sounds of Inspiration for 19 years. He enjoyed being with his family and friends especially his grandchildren and their families. He liked to fish and Dwight just liked being with the guys working on the farm. Dwight died on Friday, August 30, 2019, at St. Francis Manor in Grinnell surrounded by his family. He was 81. Dwight was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife Sue of Kellogg; son Todd (Regina) Lenz of Kellogg; daughter Teri (Kent) Langmaid of Newton; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; his brother, Dale Lenz of Kellogg; and a niece.
