He was a member of the VFW, 40+8, Eagles, lifetime member of the American Legion, Moose Lodge where he was awarded the Pilgrim Degree of Merit, and Christ United Methodist Church. Dwight leaves behind three children, Lyle Lohmeyer of Cary, NC, Lynn Lohmeyer of Rancho Mirage, CA, and Karen Lohmeyer of Lafayette, IN; five step-sons, Timothy (wife: Elaine) Dellinger, Russell (wife: Helen) Morgan, Michael (wife: Betty) Morgan, Robert (wife: Brenda) Myers, and Mark (wife: Jennifer) Myers; five step-daughters, Jeri (husband: Bill) Fouts, Jayne (husband: Jim) Auksel, Anita (husband: Jim) Wood, Kathy (husband: Steve) Breece, and Darlene Hill; a sister-in-law, Connie Lohmeyer-Shirley; along with many grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Dwight is preceded in death by two sisters, Virginia Cartwright and Twylamae Shoaf; three brothers, Delmar, Donald, and Everett Lohmeyer; and a step-son, Donald Myers.
