Description	:	E. Eileen Montey, 89, of Lexington, Nebraska, passed away Saturday, October 24, 2015, at the Elwood Care Center in Elwood, Nebraska. Eileen was born July 24, 1926, in Elwood, Nebraska, to Ben Earl and Edith Amelia (Hein) Maxon. She graduated from Elwood High School with the class of 1943, as class president. She then moved for a time to Omaha where she worked for the Bomb Plant and Blackstone Hotel in the Auditing department. Eileen Montey, 89, of Lexington, Nebraska, passed away Saturday, October 24, 2015, at the Elwood Care Center in Elwood, Nebraska. Eileen was born July 24, 1926, in Elwood, Nebraska, to Ben Earl and Edith Amelia (Hein) Maxon. She graduated from Elwood High School with the class of 1943, as class president. She then moved for a time to Omaha where she worked for the Bomb Plant and Blackstone Hotel in the Auditing department. She was united in marriage to Darmon Montey on June 3, 1946, in Smith Center, Kansas. Six children were blessed to this marriage; Doug, twins, Jerry & Terry, Bruce, Linda, and David. The family moved to Dawson County in 1956, and Eileen into Lexington in 2002. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, and the Dawson County Extension Club. She enjoyed Sewing, crocheting, reading, and gardening. Her greatest joy was when she could spend time with her large family. Eileen always had a bright smile and a warm heart. She enjoyed life and will be very missed. Survivors include four sons; Jerry (Anna) Montey of McCook, Nebraska, Terry (Bobbi) Montey of Lexington, Nebraska, Bruce (Verla) Montey of Cozad, Nebraska, and David (Rhonda) Montey of Eustis, Nebraska; one daughter, Linda Cochrane of Lexington, Nebraska; daughter-in-law, Lin Montey of Aiea, Hawaii; sixteen grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild on the way; also surviving are nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Eileen was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Darmon in 2001; son, Doug in 2003; three brothers, Oliver, Richard & Ben Maxon; five sisters, Nina Hood, Ona Maxon, Gladys Taylor, Mildred Corda, and Maxine Braun; also, her beloved pet, Petey. Funeral Services will be Wednesday, October 28, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Chapel in Lexington with Pastor Bill Ohlmann officiating. It was Eileen’s wishes her body then be cremated. Inurnment will be held at a later date in the Elwood Cemetery. Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington is assisting the family with arrangements.
