Description	:	"Earl E. Stafford, 83 years, of Grand Island, Nebraska formerly of Fremont, Nebraska died Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at the Grand Island Veterans Home in Grand Island. Earl was born October 11, 1931 in Bancroft, Nebraska to Joseph and Ethel (Orris) Stafford. He lived in Bancroft until 1936 when his family moved to Fremont. He graduated from Fremont High School in 1950. He served in the United States Air Force from December 26, 1950 until December 17, 1954 serving in Korea and Japan. Earl was born October 11, 1931 in Bancroft, Nebraska to Joseph and Ethel (Orris) Stafford. He lived in Bancroft until 1936 when his family moved to Fremont. He graduated from Fremont High School in 1950. He served in the United States Air Force from December 26, 1950 until December 17, 1954 serving in Korea and Japan. Earl married Arlene Latham June 27, 1953 in Boscobel, Wisconsin. He worked for the Chicago Northwestern Railroad from 1955 to 1959. He then began a 30 year employment at Hormel’s in Fremont retiring in December 1989. He belonged to St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Fremont, St. Patrick’s Pinochle Club, Fremont Anglers and was a former Boy Scout Leader. He is survived by a son, Michael Stafford of Dallas, Texas; daughters, Kathryn (Craig) Anderson of Fremont, Cheryl (Mark) Brei of Grand Island, Brenda (Jim) Fitch of Fremont, Patricia (Mike) Champagne of Valley, Nebraska; sister, Rhoda Mary Jandt of Edmonton, Kentucky; ten grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Arlene; and brother-in-law, Albert Jandt. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 A.M., Monday, April 6, 2015 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Fremont. The Rev. Father Benjamin Boyd will officiate. Visitation will be Sunday from 6 PM to 8 PM at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont and 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Burial with Military Honors will be at Calvary Cemetery in Fremont. Memorials may be directed to St. Patrick’s Catholic Church or Grand Island Veterans Home."
