Description	:	Earl L. Dinkla, 35, son of Bertha Duden Dinkla and the late Remmer Dinkla of Massena, died suddenly at the family home 2 miles north of Massena Friday evening, October 11. Earl had been a victim of cerebral palsy since birth. He graduated from the Massena High School in 1953. He was engaged in partnership farming with his younger brother, Glen, until 1963 when it became apparent to him that farming was too strenuous for his physical health. Dinkla, 35, son of Bertha Duden Dinkla and the late Remmer Dinkla of Massena, died suddenly at the family home 2 miles north of Massena Friday evening, October 11. Earl had been a victim of cerebral palsy since birth. He graduated from the Massena High School in 1953. He was engaged in partnership farming with his younger brother, Glen, until 1963 when it became apparent to him that farming was too strenuous for his physical health. To fulfill his desire to be self-supporting, he enrolled at the Creston Junior College where he completed his freshman year. Hoping to help his physical condition, he entered St. Barnabas Hospital in New York City for surgery in September, 1967. On August 23 of this year he submitted to further surgery at the same hospital. He has been in failing health the past year. He was highly regarded by his host of friends and relatives for his cheerful nature and determination in spite of his handicapped condition. He was preceded in death by his father, Remmer Dinkla, on October 10, 1950; a brother, Clarence, on January 4, 1947; a sister, who died in infancy; and a niece, Carol Ann Paulsen, on March 10, 1949. He is survived by his mother, Bertha Dinkla, of Massena; two brothers, Elmer, of Casey and Glen, of Massena; two sisters, Mrs. Elsie Paulsen, of Atlantic and Violet Dinkla; and seventeen nieces and nephews. Earl was baptized and confirmed in the First Lutheran Church. Funeral services were held Monday, October 14 at 2:00 p.m. at First Lutheran Church, south of Wiota, with the Rev.
