Description	:	Earl Keim June 28, 1911-August 28, 2005 Earl Raymond Keim was born on the farm in Willow Township, south of Charter Oak, Iowa, June 28, 1911, the son of Edward and Harriett "Hallie" Scott Keim. He was raised on the farm and received his education in the local rural schools. He was received into God's Kingdom of Grace through the Sacrament of Holy Baptism at the Mullen Methodist Church, Willow Township, in 1928, and confirmed in his Christian Faith at St. John's Lutheran Church, Charter Oak, Iowa in 1938. Read More	Earl Keim June 28, 1911-August 28, 2005 Earl Raymond Keim was born on the farm in Willow Township, south of Charter Oak, Iowa, June 28, 1911, the son of Edward and Harriett "Hallie" Scott Keim. He was raised on the farm and received his education in the local rural schools. He was received into God's Kingdom of Grace through the Sacrament of Holy Baptism at the Mullen Methodist Church, Willow Township, in 1928, and confirmed in his Christian Faith at St. John's Lutheran Church, Charter Oak, Iowa in 1938. On April 26, 1936, Earl was united in marriage with Carmen Louise Stier at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Soldier Township. Their union was blessed with two children, Larry and Joan. Earl and Carmen farmed south of Charter Oak, Iowa, until retiring in 1972 and moving to Denison. After moving to Denison Earl so enjoyed having coffee and conversation with dear friends at Coleman Motors, Cronks, Family Table and Jaspers, and his membership in the Golden K. Club. He treasured time spent with his family, and he and Carmen enjoyed caring for his great-nephew, David Keim. He lovingly cared for his dear wife, Carmen, until her death December 11, 1998. Earl will be fondly remembered by his family and friends for his gentle demeanor and dry sense of humor. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Denison. Earl died August 28, 2005 at Eventide Lutheran Home, Denison, Iowa, having been blessed with 94 years and 2 months. Including his parents and his wife, Earl was preceded in death by three brothers, Lavern, Howard and Bill Keim and one sister, Evelyn Aebischer. Those remaining to cherish his memory include two children and their spouses, Larry and Barbara Keim of Garland, Texas, and Joan and Owen McBride of West St. Paul, Minnesota; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, Patricia and Bill Shea and their daughter, Sara of Richardson, Texas, Matthew Keim of Garland, Texas, and Christine and Christopher McLaren and their twin daughters, Carmen and Chloe of Plymouth, Minnesota; three sisters-in-law, Narlean Keim of Charter Oak, Iowa, Gladys Keim of Albia, Iowa and Gladys Keim of Denison, Iowa, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, August 31, 2005 at Zion Lutheran Church in Denison, Iowa, with the Rev. Kurt R. Kaiser and the Rev. David M. Sewing officiating. Music for the service included Larry Boeck singing, "Just As I Am Without One Plea" and "Abide With Me" and the congregation singing, "My Hope Is Built On Nothing Less". Karen Kahl served as organist. Pallbearers included Henry Kolls, Dale Keim, Joe Coleman, Jim Lindstrom, Robert Hoffman and Ernest Poggensee. Interment was at Crawford Heights Memory Gardens in Denison. Following the services the family invited everyone to return to the church for a meal catered by Cronks and served by the Zion Dorcas Society.
