He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Evan Elliot Allen. Earl William Allen was born December 13, 1921 in rural Montezuma, Iowa, the son of William Henry Allen and Elsie Evans Allen. He attended the Poweshiek County schools and Brooklyn High School. Bill served in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1942 -1945. He and Norma Eloida Dayton were united in marriage on December 12, 1944 in Brooklyn, Iowa. The couple farmed for many years between Montezuma and Deep River. He was well known in the dairy industry. They moved to Brooklyn in 2008. Bill was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church, the Knights of Pythias, DAV, the Farm Bureau, and the Linger Longer Club. Bill enjoyed building model airplanes, latch hooking, reading, string art and puzzles. He was extremely fond of Norma's apple pie, bacon and ice cream.
