Most of his life was spent in Marion County and for 27 years, was employed by the Rock Island Railroad. Mr. Nolte was united in marriage to Viola McNeer on November 26, 1913. To this union were born three children: Catherine (Nolte) Dabb, Dallas, Iowa; Earl Nolte, Dallas, Iowa; and Franklin Nolte, stationed at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. Preceding him in death were his father, mother, two brothers, Grover and George; two sisters, Sarah Osterloh and Carrie Osterloh; and two grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Viola, three children, three grandchildren, Alberta Dabb, Margaret, and Martha Nolte; three brothers, Henry, Ord, Nebraska; William, Melcher, Iowa; Carl Nolte, Dallas, Iowa; three sisters, Christina Schrader, Eckert, Colorado; Lottie Marsh, Indianola, Iowa; and Mary Borchert, Indianola, Iowa; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services, conducted by Rev. Lee Hutchinson, were held Friday, December 16th at 2:00 p.m., in the First Baptist Church at Melcher, Iowa. Interment was made in the Dallas Cemetery.
